16 May Tile That (Really) Looks Like Wood
We saw something fascinating recently, and we just have to tell our readers about it: Porcelain tile that looks just like wood. Until this discovery, our only experience with fake wood floors had been with laminates (which are beginning to look close enough to wood that almost no one can tell the difference, by the way), but it seems there are a lot of companies producing this faux-wood flooring.
We did a little bit of research and found that the prices varied, but they seemed to be on par with carpet or other flooring, between $2-$5 per square foot — considerably cheaper than hardwood flooring, which can cost around $10 per square foot, installed. Additionally, porcelain tile is more durable than hardwood flooring — less likely to get those scratches, nicks and chips that plagues owners of hardwood floors.
