Pet Odor Removal

We love our four legged family members, but sometimes they can have accidents. Getting a new puppy and kitten house broken is sometimes easier said than done, and the little spills they have can leave behind on your carpet can create stains and bad odors. Even house broken pets can be prone to accidents if they are left inside too long, are upset, or even sick.

Maybe you bought and applied an over-the-counter carpet cleaner, but you still smell a faint trace of urine.  This is because over-the-counter pet odor remedies sometimes simply cover up the smell, but don’t make it go away like professional carpet cleaning does.

Pet accidents can even harm your loved ones’ health. Did you know that pet urine and waste has bacteria that can make your family sick? Steamer’s Carpet Care has pet urine odor treatments that immediately start eating away at the bacteria that causes your carpets to smell so bad. Our pet odor treatments sanitize your carpet making them safe for the whole family to enjoy again.

Treating Pet Odors

Steamer’s Carpet Care treats most pet odors with Enzyme Treatments. The process works good for most light to medium pet odor issues. A Steamer’s Carpet Care technician will first clean the rooms that have pet odor issues. Afterward, the technician will apply an enzyme activated treatment to the affected rooms.  The Enzyme Treatment will have an immediate deodorizing affect, but over the next 36 hours, the enzymes in the treatment will actually attach themselves to the odor molecules, and through a biological process, will change those molecules in a manner that makes the smell diminish or go away. Again, this treatment works well for light to medium issues, and if the problem is more severe, a more drastic treatment might be necessary such as replacing the carpet padding or even replacing both the carpet and carpet padding.

Make sure you call us within 24 hours after your pet accident to make an appointment for carpet cleaning.  This ensures the minor odors and stains do not cause permanent carpet damage resulting in fiber color fading or soaking into the your carpet padding or sub-floor. Feel free to ask a Steamer’s representative for more information on our pet odor removal services.
