It’s that time again… spring is here and that means spring cleaning is here as well! History suggests that this time-honored tradition has its roots in ancient Persia and the new year celebration called Norouz, which falls on the first day of spring. Modern day Iranians still practice the knooneh tekouni, or the “shaking of the house” just before their new year.
