Do you use truckmounted units?
Yes. Truckmounted units heat water to a temperature that will break down soil. Just as important, truckmounted units provide powerful suction so your carpets are left with only dampness.

What is the typical drying time?
Typically 3 to 5 hours. The key to getting dampness out of your carpet is airflow. If you will keep your ceiling fans on high and your room temperature at 72 degrees with the fan running after the technicians leave, your drying time will be enhanced.

Your 9-Step Process says that you move some furniture, what furniture do your technicians not move?
We want our technicians to be great cleaners rather than great movers, so we keep them away from moving large bulky items such as large formal dining room tables, china hutches, any type of electronics including entertainment centers, and in the bedroom we leave beds and dressers in place. Our thoughts are to use common sense regarding your furniture. For example, we would not move (nor would you want us to move) a baby grand piano.

Our technicians would be happy to move items such as sofas, loveseats, tables, and chairs if you would like.

What should we do to prepare before the technicians arrive?
If you will pickup any toys and decorative items that are on the carpet . . . we can take it from there.

How long does a Whole House Special for Homes up to 2,000 square feet take to clean?
Depending on the soil level in the carpet, approximately two hours.

I have heard that having your carpets steam cleaned will leave your carpet filled with mold and mildew. Is this true?
No!  In fact, 95% of all carpet manufacturers require that you get your carpet steam cleaned once a year by an IICRC certified carpet cleaner in order to keep the warranty on the carpet. The rumor about mold and mildew was created by companies that use the bonnet cleaning method (dry cleaning) as a means of convincing homeowners to change their method of carpet cleaning. With that said, a carpet cleaning in which the carpet is left sopping wet is not a good cleaning. Steamer's Carpet Care has truckmounted units with powerful suction, and more importantly, trained technicians that understand the difference between a good and bad cleaning.

Will there be any residue left in the carpet?
No. Steamer's Carpet Care thoroughly rinses the carpet so that no residue is left in your carpet. This is why your carpet has such a fresh scent after we are done! All of the dirt and soil, along with our cleaning emulsifiers have been completely rinsed out of your carpet.

Do your trucks carry their own water?
Yes. If we are running low on water, we may ask you if we can use a little of your water to refill our tank. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

I am moving out . . . do I need to keep my electricity on?
Yes. There are two very important reasons to have the electricity on while we are cleaning and for a short time after we leave. First, we will need to vacuum your carpet before we start cleaning. Secondly, airflow is the key to a good carpet cleaning. The instructions for leaving your HVAC system on and your ceiling fans running should be followed in order to not void our one week guarantee.

We have heard that carpet cleaners have a lot of hidden charges, does Steamer's Carpet Care do this?
No!  We pride ourselves on being upfront with our customers on our prices and our service. We know why you call us . . . because your carpet needs to be cleaned. The price we quote you over the phone is what you will pay to clean your carpet using Steamer's Carpet Care 9-Step Process.

Steamer's Carpet Care does have two items that are offered as extra services and thus considered extra charges if a customer is interested:
  1. DuPont Teflon Protection
  2. Enzyme and Odor Treatments
Also and not as common, we do have an alternative treatment for color stains such as stains caused by Kool-Aid, if we were unable to remove them with our 9-Step process. This alternative process is a little more involved and is an extra charge, and we cannot guarantee that we can get the color stain completely removed.

Does Steamer's Carpet Care offer carpet repair services?
Yes. Steamer's Carpet Care has a certified repairman that can stretch carpet, install bonded inserts (otherwise known as patches), and also do small installations of carpet and/or pad. This technician is also certified in cleaning, so you can have both services done in one visit.

Is Steamer's Carpet Care a franchise?
No. We are proud to say that we are a local company based right here in the San Antonio area. The only people above us that we report to is you - our customer.

What areas does Steamer's Carpet Care serve?
Steamer's Carpet Care serves San Antonio, Boerne, New Braunfels, and Seguin areas without a travel fee. We also serve a lot of surrounding areas as well, call a Steamer's Carpet Care representative to see if your area involves a travel fee.

Does Steamer's Carpet Care use subcontractors?
Never!  All technicians are employees of Steamer's Carpet Care.

What about criminal background checks?
All employees of Steamer's Carpet Care, not just the technicians, must pass a criminal background check.

Is Steamer's Carpet Care an insured and bonded company?
Yes. Steamer's Carpet Care is fully insured and bonded, and employees are covered by worker's compensation insurance.

How many technicians will come to my home?
Steamer's Carpet Care uses a two technician team - a lead technician and an assistant technician. If we have an assistant technician that is sick and we cannot find a replacement (meaning getting an employee who was scheduled to be off to come in), then we will send out the lead technician only, and then make sure that he has an adequate amount of time to do the job right.

Does Steamer's Carpet Care have a training program for its technicians?
Yes. Steamer's Carpet Care has a rigorous internal training program and also sends lead technicians to IICRC classes for certification.

How do I pay for my service?
Steamer's Carpet Care accepts cash, local checks, and all four major credit cards - American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. To pay by check, we do require a valid drivers license number and date of birth.
